The above provided Code snippet has to be inserted into every web page you want to monitor, as the top element of the </head> tag.

This integration can be done as Default/Basic mode and also Customised Mode in which AJAX monitoring can be disabled.

Basic Monitoring

To complete this process, you must have access to your Web App's source code and know your way around HTML.

To integrate the code:

  • Copy the JavaScript code snippet shown inside the black box. Note: The code contains a unique ID that corresponds to this Web App, so don't mix up snippets for multiple Web Apps.
  • Paste the snippet into every web page you want to monitor, as the top element of the </head> tag.

Once the changes to your Web App are published, you're done.

Customized Monitoring

  • By default, AJAX calls are identified within the UI by their URL. In some cases, you might prefer to identify them by one of the HTTP headers contained in the request. In this case, add something like this to the code snippet:
    BACON.ajaxRequestHeaderToMonitor = '<The header's name>';

DISABLE AJAX monitoring

  • To disable AJAX monitoring altogether, add this:
    BACON.avoidAjaxMonitoring = true;
